2026 Dates

Each weekend brings different headliners. Swiss group Oesch's die Dritten play weekend one, and Austria's Freddy Pfister Band plus yodeler Manuela Horn play weekend three. Weekend two features European Take-Out. If a specific act matters to you, pick your weekend accordingly.

Ticket Prices

One ticket covers admission to both ticketed venues, the Festhalle and Front Street Park. The rest of downtown stays open and free.

Prices exclude the EventIM / See Tickets US service fee added at checkout. Tickets are non-refundable but can be exchanged between weekends. Reserved Festhalle seating for the first two weekends had already sold out as of late August 2026, with weekend three still available.

Buy only through the official channel. The festival warns that it is the sole official ticket provider and that third-party resellers are a known scam risk. If you are buying on the day, the box office opens one hour before gates: 5:30 PM Friday and 11:30 AM Saturday.

Festival Venues

There are three stages and a street fair, all within a short walk of one another in the middle of town.

• The Festhalle (main stage): Headliners, Bavarian classics, cover bands and dancers. Friday 6:00 PM to midnight, Saturday noon to midnight.
• The Bierzelt Stage: A clear-top tent with high-energy cover bands. Friday 6:00 to 10:00 PM, Saturday noon to 10:00 PM.
• The Gazebo Stage, Front Street Park: Traditional accordions, yodelers and alphorns. Friday 6:00 to 10:00 PM, Saturday noon to 10:00 PM. This venue is 21 and over only.
• The Street Fair: Outdoor food, beer taps, and retail vendors connecting the venues.

Festival Hours

• Fridays: Box office 5:30 PM, gates 6:00 PM, music until close. Festhalle runs to midnight; the Bierzelt and Gazebo stages close at 10:00 PM.
• Saturdays: Box office 11:30 AM, Festzug parade 11:45 AM, gates noon, keg tapping 2:00 PM at Front Street Park. Festhalle runs to midnight; the other two stages close at 10:00 PM.

Entertainment and Traditions

Every Saturday opens with the Festzug parade through town at 11:45 AM, with locals in Bavarian dress alongside alphorn players. The keg tapping follows at 2:00 PM in Front Street Park.

Returning musical acts across all three weekends include S-Bahn, West Coast Prost, Michael Stoessl, AlpenFolk, the Smilin' Scandinavians and the Ted Lunka Polka Band. Traditional dance comes from the Enzian Schuhplattler Dancers, Edelweiss Dance Academie, the Tirolean Dancers of Portland and the Leavenworth Alphorns.

Contests run throughout the day: stein holding with separate brackets for men, women and 55 plus, a Mustache Showdown, costume contests and a pretzel toss. Friday and Saturday stein-holding rounds qualify entrants for the Saturday evening championship in the Festhalle.

Food and Drink

The 2026 beer list pairs a local collaboration Festbier from Icicle, Blewett and Doghaus with imports including Paulaner, Weihenstephaner, Ayinger, Hofbrau, Spaten and Franziskaner. Washington ciders and wines are poured alongside, and non-alcoholic options include Clausthaler and Athletic. Beer and cider run $10 for 16 ounces, wine $10 for 7 ounces.

Beer is served in recyclable aluminum cups. Health rules mean staff cannot fill a personal stein at the tap, so pour into your stein yourself. Festival food covers brats, pretzels, kraut and German sandwiches, and the town's restaurants stay open throughout.

Payment runs on a tap-to-pay wristband collected at entry, which you link to a card. You can also load cash onto it, or pay by card or mobile.

Family Information

Kinderplatz is a 10,000 square foot family zone with a 62-foot Ferris wheel, carnival games, a root beer garden and face painting. Entry is free with a festival ticket, though some rides and treats carry a small fee. It runs Friday 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday noon to 9:00 PM.

Two constraints shape a family visit. Minors must leave the venues by 9:00 PM, and the Gazebo Stage in Front Street Park is 21 and over at all times. A Saturday daytime visit works far better than a Friday evening one.

Security and Bag Policy

A clear bag policy is in effect for 2026 and all guests pass through metal detectors at entry. Non-clear bags are hand searched, which is slow. Clear stadium bags are sold at the box office and the Willkommen Center.

Prohibited items are confiscated and not returned, so leave them in the car: vapes and vape pens, marijuana, weapons including pocket knives and pepper spray, outside food and drink, selfie sticks and professional camera equipment. Pets are not allowed; ADA service animals are. You must be 21 to drink, and smoking is restricted to designated areas.

Getting There and Parking

Leavenworth is roughly two and a half hours east of Seattle on US-2 over Stevens Pass. Amtrak's Empire Builder also stops in Leavenworth, which avoids the drive and the parking problem entirely.

Parking downtown is limited and fills early on Saturdays. The practical approach is to park once and use the free shuttle rather than circling. Check current lot information on the official parking page before you travel.

Free Oktoberfest shuttle

Runs every Friday and Saturday of the festival, roughly every 30 minutes, starting one hour before gates and running until 12:15 AM. Fridays begin at 5:00 PM and Saturdays at 11:00 AM. Wave to signal a stop. Three routes serve the Willkommen Park and Ride, Safeway, the KOA, Icicle Road, Sleeping Lady, Ski Hill Drive, Icicle Village Resort, Worldmark and Fairbridge Inn, all converging on the East Gate at Division and Front Street.

Coming from Wenatchee

• Link Transit, free: Route 22 runs Wenatchee to Leavenworth roughly every 45 minutes, first departure 6:45 AM and last outbound from Columbia Station at 6:30 PM. Returning buses start at 7:41 AM with the last leaving the Glacier lot at 7:31 PM. Route 32, the Leavenworth Local, is fare-free within town from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Wenatchee Valley Shuttle: $40 per person round trip on the Saturdays of Oktoberfest. Book ahead on (509) 293-5773.

The Link Transit return schedule is the catch: the last bus back to Wenatchee leaves well before the Festhalle closes. If you plan to stay late, drive, book the paid shuttle, or stay overnight.

Where to Stay

Oktoberfest is Leavenworth's busiest event of the year and lodging in town books out months ahead. If downtown is full, Wenatchee is about 25 minutes away and usually has availability at lower rates, with the free Route 22 bus connecting the two during the day.

Weather and What to Wear

October in the Cascade foothills means crisp days and cold nights, with rain a real possibility on any given weekend. Daytime conditions are usually mild enough for a jacket, but temperatures drop quickly once the sun goes down, and most of the festival happens outdoors or under an open-sided tent. Check the forecast in the week before you travel; the Chamber publishes current conditions and live webcams.

Practical packing: layers you can shed indoors in the Festhalle, a packable rain shell, and comfortable closed-toe shoes for standing on gravel and pavement for hours. Plenty of visitors wear lederhosen and dirndls, and there are costume contests, so dressing up is well within the spirit of the thing. A clear bag will save you time at security.

Saturday: Follow the one-day itinerary above. This is the fuller day by a wide margin, with the parade, keg tapping and contests all falling on Saturday.

Sunday: The festival does not run on Sunday, so use it for the valley. Walk the Waterfront Park trail along the Wenatchee River, drive up Icicle Road for autumn color, visit the Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum, or head to Cashmere or Wenatchee on the way home.
